Being able to practice again in person with 700+ other Iyengar yoga students and teachers was such a joy!! What wisdom, depth of experience, and fun this week has been!

The theme was sankalpa, and we are returning home with much clearer intentions and so much rejuvenation. I know this one just ended, but the next convention is in Philly, may 2026 - our calendars are marked!

Here are some of the actions and corrections I observe on my own body and those of my students in Adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog). I remember how tiring this pose used to feel! Now it's delightful. 🤩

Can you see how in the first image my weight is shifted forward? As I press the hands down, I need to lift my shoulder blades and move them into the body (concave action). Additionally I need to lift my sitting bones and move the outer hips back.
.
.
In the second image, with this now down I can work on opening the backs of the legs. With time, they open and I'm able to shift the weight into my feet, creating a sense of ease & balance.
